Rebecca Watkins is an interdisciplinary artist based in Portland, Oregon, whose work explores the shifting nature of identity, memory, and perception. Their creative process is one of continuous experimentation, where sensors, software, and responsive technologies become conduits for conceptual exploration.

Rooted in the sensory, Rebecca’s practice investigates how self-concept evolves in response to internal and external forces. Their work confronts the fluid boundaries between past and present, memory and reality, and self and the biosphere. This inquiry has led to the creation of sculptural works, immersive installations, and video pieces that evoke a dreamlike sensation of flux.

At the heart of their work lies a preoccupation with environmental shifts and the precarity of ecological balance. Their work underscores the limited scope of human perspective on time compared to the vast cycles of the Earth and reflects on humanity’s entangled role within larger, ever-evolving ecosystems.
